Application Delivery Controller (ADC)
A network appliance, such as F5 BIG-IP, that sits in front of applications to load-balance, terminate TLS, apply access policies and often act as an authentication or OAuth gateway. Because it holds keys and sessions for everything behind it and is exposed to the internet by design, it is a high-value target for pre-authentication exploits.
